Failures do lead towards success. Though it's a long and winding road it still teaches us lessons that help us through out our lives. Failure has it's timings in an individuals life from what I've unfolded. We see in history that failure blocked one's way earlier in life while in others' life failure came late. I really don't know anything about how this pattern works. However, there are situations where an individual or a civilization triggered the bullet of their down fall due to their own folly.
